Measure the damping ratio of resonating machinery Example1

After excitation with an impulse hammer or similar, use the trigger function to capture the attenuation waveform with the VA-14. The damping ratio can then be determined from the logarithmic decrement in the time domain or with the half-power bandwidth method in the frequency domain.
