Low-frequency and low-amplitude vibration Measurement Example3

Connecting the RIONOTE Multifunction Measurement System to a vibration meter enables measurement of various types of low-frequency and low-amplitude vibrations for example in structures such as buildings and bridges as well as ground vibrations, floor vibrations etc. The highly sensitive Servo Accelerometer LS-10C incorporating an acceleration sensor and the Vibration Meter VM-83 provide low-frequency and low-amplitude vibration measurement data to the RIONOTE which then performs frequency analysis, waveform recording and other tasks. Because the RIONOTE supports up to four input channels, simultaneous 3-axis measurement and analysis (two horizontal axes and one vertical axis) or measurement/analysis for multiple locations can be easily realized. Thanks to its light weight (only about 1.2 kg), small dimensions, and battery driven operation, the RIONOTE is eminently portable, making vibration measurement and analysis in the field a snap.
The illustration below shows an example of measurement and analysis of floor vibrations. Two horizontal axes and one vertical axis are measured simultaneously.
Vibration meters from Rion support not only acceleration but also velocity and displacement measurements. By connecting the AC output signal to the RIONOTE, analysis of acceleration, velocity, and displacement becomes possible. The wave recording function allows even more detailed FFT analysis of recorded waveforms, which is optimal for analysis of fluctuating vibrations.
Multi-point measurements at large structural objects often present difficulties with regard to extension cables. Using the Wireless Dock SA-A1WD makes it possible to transmit the vibration meter output signals wirelessly to the RIONOTE, eliminating the need for cumbersome cabling.
